  • Then both players should proceed to play from that location.
  • This is repeated until the ball is holed.

Par Bogey Competition

Par/Bogey is a form of stroke play that uses scoring as in match play where:

  • A player wins or loses a hole by completing the hole in fewer strokes or more strokes than a fixed target score for that hole set by the Committee, and
  • The competition is won by the player with the highest total of holes won versus holes lost (that is, adding up the holes won and deducting the holes lost).

On the 13th August the fixed target has been set as Par. So, a player will

  • Win a hole with a nett birdie or better
  • Half a hole with a nett par
  • Lose a hole with a nett bogey or worse

Pre Captains-Day Par Three Contest

Terms of the Competition

Friday 29th July 2022

Singles Match Play over the ‘Back’ Nine Holes of Par Three Lislea Course.
Entry Fee: £5 per person includes a burger or hot dog and a drink.

Members will be asked to confirm one of three time slots they are available to start their match.

Players will then be drawn against each other for the first-round matches with the draft published on Thursday 28th July. If a player does not turn up for their time slot, they will be replaced by the next available player. Similarly, if a player turns up at a different time or without putting their name on a sheet they will be slotted in accordingly. The ‘Committee’ reserves the right to allow a player a second chance to make up the numbers.

Course Handicap = See Table Below
Shots = 100% of Course Handicap

Early starters, dependant on numbers, may be asked to play alongside another match to keep the competition running.

If matches are tied after nine holes, both players will return to the 9th Tee to play a single shot towards the green. Closest to the Pin, on or off the green wins the match.

The draw for the subsequent rounds will be decided based on when matches from the previous round are completed. So, when two matches are finished these two players will play each other.

Matches will continue until we have a winner or in the event of fading light the remaining matches will be decided by a three shot closest to the pin contest.
