Inter Club Draws 2022 #2

Ladies AIG Challenge Cup
1st Round against Cairndhu to be played by 8th May; we are away team.

i) To be eligible, players must have a Handicap Index on 1 January in the year of the event and was not lower than 28.0 in the period 1st July 2021 –1st January 2022.
ii) Each player uses their lowest handicap index in the period 1st July 2021 – 1st January 2022 OR their current handicap index on the day of the match – whichever is lower – to determine their course handicap for the allocation of shots.
iii) The maximum Handicap Index a player can have in this competition is 36.0. A player whose Handicap Index is higher than this figure (both for eligibility and playing purposes) is still eligible to play, but must step down to 36.0 when determining their Course Handicap and Playing Handicap.

Ladies AIG Minor Cup
2nd Round against Cliftonville to be played by 29th May; we are the home team.

i) To be eligible, players must have had a Handicap Index on 1 January in the year of the event and a Handicap Index not lower than 21.0 in the period 1st July 2021 –1st January 2022.
ii) Each player uses their lowest handicap index in the period 1st July 2021 – 1st January 2022 OR their current handicap index on the day of the match – whichever is lower – to determine their course handicap for the allocation of shots.
iii) The maximum Handicap Index a player can have in this competition is 27.9. A player whose Handicap Index is higher than this figure (both for eligibility and playing purposes) is still eligible to play, but must step down to 27.9 when determining their Course Handicap and Playing Handicap.

Men’s Ulster Cup
2nd Round against either Dungannon or Dunfanaghy to be played by 29th May; we are the away team.

i) To be eligible to compete, a player must have a Handicap Index that was no lower than 9.5 in the period 1 July 2021 until 1 January 2022 inclusive. The Inter-Club team members report will be updated to provide this verification.
ii) All matches played off scratch

Men’s Fred Perry
1st Round against Greenisland to be played by 21st May; we are the home team.

i) To be eligible, players must have a Handicap Index that was active on 1 January in the year of the event and a lowest Handicap Index of no higher than 28.0 in the period 1st July 2021 –1st January 2022 (no dropping down allowed). A player with an index of 28.1 or higher for these purposes is not eligible.
ii) For a pair to be eligible, their lowest combined Handicap Index in the period 1st July 2021 –1st January 2022, when added together, must not be higher than 42.0.
iii) Players’ current Handicap Indexes will be used to determine their Course Handicap, from which Playing Handicaps and strokes in matches will be based, unless their current handicap index exceeds their eligibility handicap index (le, lowest from 1″ July 21 – 1″ January 22). If this is the case, the player uses their eligibility handicap index to determine their Course Handicap and Playing Handicap.

Men’s Fourball
1st Round against City of Belfast to be played by 30th April; we are the home team.

i) To be eligible, players must have a lowest Handicap Index that was active on 1 January in the year of the event and of no less than 14.5 in the period 1st July 2021 1st January 2022.
ii) For a pair to be eligible, their lowest combined Handicap Index in the period 1st July 2021 –1st January 2022, when added together, must not be lower than 34.0.
iii) All matches are played off scratch.

Men’s Pierce Purcell
1st Round against Newtownstewart to be played by 15th May; we are the away team.

i) To be eligible, players must have a Handicap Index that was active on 1 January in the year of the event and of no less than 10.5 in the period 1st July 2021 –1st January 2022.
ii) For a pair to be eligible, their lowest Handicap Indexes in the period 1st July 2021 –1st January 2022, when added together, must not be lower than 25.0.
iii) All matches are played off scratch.

Men’s Jimmy Bruen
1st Round against Galgorm to be played by 7th May; we are the home team.

i) To be eligible, players must have a handicap Index that was active on 1 January in the year of the event and no less than 3.5 in the period 1st July 2021 –1st January 2022.
ii) For a pair to be eligible, their lowest Handicap Indexes in the period 1st July 2021 –1st January 2022, when added together, must not be lower than 14.0.
iii) All matches are played off scratch.

Men’s Junior Cup
1st Round against Bushfoot to be played by 15th May, we are the away team.

i) To be eligible, players must have a Handicap Index that was active on 1 January in the year of the event and not lower than 2.5 in the period 1st July 2021 –1st January 2022.
ii) All matches are played off scratch.

2022 Competitions – April 2022

Terms of Competition

  • From Saturday 16th April the Model Local Rules E2 & E3 will no longer be in place.
  • The Ball MUST be played as it lies.
  • Bunkers are in play
  • Competition Entry Fee – £5
  • We would ask all members to record their handicap index, course and playing handicap on card.
  • Scores will be acceptable for handicapping
  • A physical score card MUST be returned

Preferred Lies – Full Wording

E-2 Cleaning Ball

When a player’s ball lies the general area, the ball may be lifted, cleaned and replaced without penalty. The player must mark the spot before lifting the ball (see Rule 14.1) and the ball must be replaced on its original spot (see Rule 14.2).

E-3 Preferred Lies

When a player’s ball lies in the general area cut to fairway height or less, the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball in and playing it from this relief area:

Reference Point: Spot of the original ball.

Size of Relief Area Measured from Reference Point: 6 inches from the reference point, but with these limits:

Limits on Location of Relief Area: Must not be nearer the hole than the reference point and Must be in the general area.

In proceeding under this Local Rule, the player must choose a spot to place the ball and use the procedures for replacing a ball under Rules 14.2b(2) and 14.2e.

The penalty for breach of a Local Rule is the General Penalty

Membership

As previously stated, everyone who had not paid their Golf Club Membership fee was removed from the Golf Ireland Central Handicap Database on Thursday 31st March.

Following on from this anyone who has still not paid their membership by Friday 15th April will be blocked from entering all club competitions.
