June 2022 Update

Competitions

4th June – Captain Simon Hopper’s Charity Day

This Saturday is our Captains Charity Day with all entry fees being added to this year’s donation to Hope House.

The format will be an eighteen-hole Stableford Competition played from the Whites tees with all returned scores being acceptable for handicap.  For members wishing to enter there will be an additional Better Ball pairs competition.

Entry Fee
The competition entry fee will be £5 and if you wish to donate more, please place your money into a separate envelope and drop it into the Captains Slot.

Stableford Competition
Members should sign into the competition, complete the score card, enter your score into the computer and drop the score card as normal.

Pairs Competition
Members wishing to enter the Better Ball pairs should collect an additional score card and complete it as required under the Rules of Golf 23.2.

Which means you need to write BOTH players names and handicap indexes onto the card.  Then you must record the gross score identifiable to the relevant person on the card.  E.g., the gross scores for player one should be recorded in column A and the gross scores for player two should be recorded in column B.

At the end of the round only one partner and your marker need to sign the card before dropping it into the Match & Handicap Slot.

Prizes:
In the Stableford competition 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each section will receive the normal prize voucher (£25, £20, £15)

In the Better Ball competition, the winning pair will receive £30 each, second place will get £20 each and third £10 each.

As always there will be a pay-out for all members lucky enough to get two on any hole.

11th June – The Walker Cups

This will be an eighteen-hole stroke play competition (NOT Maximum Score) played from the white tee boxes.

The three section winners with the best nett score will win one of the three Walker Cups.  The Best Gross on the day of the competition will win a £30 prize voucher.

18th June – Alzheimer’s Trophy

This will be an eighteen-hole stableford competition played from the white tee boxes.

25th June – Davidson Cup and Club Championship Qualifier Round Three

This will be an eighteen-hole maximum score competition played from the white tee boxes.
